Printer cost-effectiveness? What type (inkjet, laser, etc...) would end up being cheaper in the long run? - inkjet printer running costs
My office is on the lookout for a new printer and print a lot of things.
What you end up cheaper in the long run? We thought of a laser printer, but we were not sure ... a response to the type of printer, and it would be very grateful. :)
In addition, we thought to get a scanner. Cheaper to get them individually or buy an all-in-one? We just need the scanner to the file, so you will not be of high quality.

I have recently, an analysis for a customer.
I wanted to compare the purchase of an ink jet printer cartridges for $ 250 discount on the purchase of a $ LaserJet 1000.
The inkjet cartridges are $ 40 and prints 500 pages.
$ 40 / 500 = Pages, 08 Per Page
The toner cartridge in the cost of Black & White-$ 90 and prints about 5,000 pages.
$ 90 / 5,000 =, 018 pages per page
Consequently, even a laser printer thoughh initial investment Moe. It is cheaper to operate one per page.
Laser printer is the right way.
Computer technician here ...... I recommend a Lexmark X4270 All-In-One. They are cheaper in the long term and where are the inkjet cartridges. The Lexmark All-in-One has more features than you want, faxing, copying and scanning. Lasers are very expensive as a replacement laser cartridges are very expensive. The color and inkjet cartridges are available in black package of about $ 50.00 sold. Lexmark printers that you believe it or not, much used in business. If there is a Wal-Mart in your neighborhood with them about $ 60.00 to $ 70.00. Ink cartridges for the price I mentioned, can be found at Staples, or you can order online and they deliver. For more information on these can be found on the website of the site of Wal-Mart and Staples. The Lexmark alsoER-printers. Hope this helps.
As mentioned in the first 2 positions of a laser printer is the right way, if you print a lot. Nothing is personal, but Lexmark is not t0 be held in an office environment. Another thing to consider, there is the possibility to rent a larger Kyocera and Canon laser copier / fax / scanner. They are fast, order and make the same color and everything, including maintenance, supplies and rolled into a single monthly payment will be. The best way, and you can forget it. Everything depends on your situation.
Laser printing has a much lower cost per page than inkjet printers, but you need a large amount to compensate the increased cost of the printer to print. I have laser printers that have worked flawlessly for over a decade, but rarely see, an inkjet work are more than a year.
I tell my scanner and printer separately, as I have proved the combination to be unreliable and the software for it is generally poor.
